No Kirilenko vs. Denver

The SL Trib is reporting that Andrei re-injured his calf (for the 19th time) yesterday in a light workout, and is OUT for at least the 1st round of the playoffs.

Things are look ominous for our Jazz: No Andrei, potentially no Boozer, Memo has achilles problems, we saw Fes & Koufas on the floor together vs. Phoenix which proved to be a surreal viewing experience, and we have no home court advantage.
We've seen better days.

With AK's gimpy calf and Booze's bruised ovaries, is this series even going to go 5 games?

I was hoping for an exciting April & May full of Jazz playoff basketball, and maybe even a paella if Booner ever got off his lazy ass.

Good luck, Jazz.

Regards,

Jack Sikma

Two words... Othyus Jeffers! I guess Ak's injury was worse than we thought. If perhaps not soft, our guys are most definitely injury prone.

Leave it to me to be the optimist. Yes, we got hammered by Phoenix, but we're terrible on back to backs because Jerry makes us get up early and practice and we didn't have Boozer or AK.

I love our chances against Denver with those two back in the lineup. Without AK and homecourt it's 50-50, but let's remember that Denver really faded down the stretch (they had a good lead on us two months ago) and is without George Karl. I think it's going to be interesting.

"Kirilenko likely will miss the entire series against the Nuggets after straining his calf for a third time in the last month while playing a 2-on-2 game Thursday with Kosta Koufos, Othyus Jeffers and Sundiata Gaines."

Solid 2-on-2 right there. I wonder who was winning when AK got hurt? If it wasn't his team I don't think we want him coming back yet anyway. . .
