Millsap Offered Contract

The Portland Trail Blazers have swept in to give Paul Millsap a contract. The contract is assumed to be a 4-year deal worth between $32-36 million. It also has a signing bonus attached to it, making it difficult to match. Let the chips fall where they may!... Millsap could very well end up being a Portland Trailblazer next week, unless the Jazz deem the contract "match-able". The Jazz have 1 week to make their decision on whether to match the contract and keep Man-sap.

Interesting moves today! Millsap at $8-9 million a year is a good deal. It would obviously be a hit for the Jazz this year given the large signing bonus but we'd be set up very nicely for the next three to four years. I think (and hope) we match this.

Also interesting to note that it sounds like the Bulls deal could have gone down if the Jazz had accepted Tim Thomas instead of Tyrus Thomas. Judging from KOC's doubting of certain Thomases, it appears that the Jazz are looking for at least a little bit of value for Carlos instead of a pure salary dump. Or at least were until Millsap had an offer. . .
